Landscape design of restaurant outdoor, Athens, Greece, 2006
This location surrounds a restaurant for people entertainment. The size of the components in this landscape is the scale and how they relate to each other in proportion. The size of this landscape and the items in it are all balanced. A wall or tree that is significantly larger than everything else will pull the eye away from the rest of the garden. Elements that do not provide improvement or impact on the design can be omitted. This design prioritizes what is important and what is not to keep the design clean, neat, and uncluttered. Everything that is placed in this design carries a certain visual weight with it. Balance is the concept of ensuring the weight feels even throughout the plan. Plants are limited and organized. Single plants are used when they act as a focal point for the yard as living art and are large enough to command attention.
