SODIC office buidlings on Eastown block 24 & 29 - Cairo, Egypt - 2010
This project was a proposal submitted to one of the biggest developers in Egypt called SODIC. Project goals are: Establishing a unique environment where the administrative and commercial activities are the main pillars of the community to create a distinguished business center in new Cairo. Elevating the architectural standard, and the environmental qualities of commercial and office buildings in Cairo. Special emphasis will be given to constructability and employing modern construction techniques. Providing the project with exclusive and unique Architectural & landscape elements that reflect the heritage and culture of old Cairo in a modern way. The Form and the design lines are based on four main concepts; Motion (inspired from the Zodiac and the ecliptic, Time (inspired from the path of the sun along the year), Transparency (inspired from the celestial sphere), and History. Provided by the concrete floor plates which transfer later all loads to the vertical structural elements. generated due to the geometry of the building. Each floor plate overhangs the one below causing an overturning effect.
